AREA OF CONCERN: SLIME BUILD-UP IN IN POLISHED WATER TANK AND LINES
Sterilex was contacted by a dry dairy facility with a polished water system. The tank and lines were coated with a slime layer, which was thought to be caused by biofilm buildup.
Plant had tried to scrub the tank, and lines, but many areas were inaccessible. Water samples showed some slime particles suspended in the water as well.
Sterilex proposed the following actions:
- Foam the inside of the water holding tank with Sterilex Ultra Disinfectant Cleaner and Activator Solution as part of a routine maintenance program.
- Circulate Sterilex Ultra CIP and Ultra Activator through the water lines as a part of a routine maintenance program in order to control growth of the build-up.
- The plant was able to eliminate the layer of slime that had accumulated on the surfaces and prevent future growth through routine treatments.
