AREA OF CONCERN: PRESUMPTIVE LISTERIA POSITIVES IN DRAINS AND ON FLOOR SURFACES IN AN ORGANIC DAIRY FACILITY
Sterilex was contacted by an organic processor of fluid milk that was experiencing challenges controlling Listeria in their floor drains, and on their floor surfaces.
Plant had tried using chlorine bleach as well as quaternary ammonium rings in the drains in an effort to control the problem. These interventions were not successful and the plant continued to experience positive swabs.
Sterilex proposed the following actions:
- Foam drains with Sterilex Ultra Disinfectant Cleaner and Activator Solution as part of a complete drain program for the plant.
- Foam floor surfaces with Sterilex as part of a routine maintenance program.
- The plant was able to eliminate the presumptive positives and maintain those results.
