Stop Avian Influenza in its Tracks: Prevention is Protection

Last week the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) confirmed the presence of a highly pathogenic strain of avian influenza in a commercial turkey flock in Chesterfield County, South Carolina.

Entryway control

Avian Influenza is easily transferred through foot traffic and equipment movement. Are you using effective entry-way pathogen control?

Sterilex Ultra Step is an EPA-registered foot pan, floor mat, floor surface and boot sanitizer designed for entryway pathogen control. It will inactivate Avian Influenza and kill organisms such as Salmonella, Escherichia coli (E.coli), Staphylococcus (Staph), and Pseudomonas.

Sterilex Ultra Step’s non-slick, low dust, odorless profile maintains effective active ingredient levels for longer periods of time than traditional chlorine-based dry foot pan treatments. This makes Sterilex Ultra Step the perfect tool to enhance entryway pathogen control and biosecurity in live production environments.

Waterline disinfection

All-in, all-out production systems aid in disease management and are most effective if a proper sanitation program is implemented. Waterline disinfection is a key practice for preventing cross-contamination of harmful pathogens between flocks.

Waterlines create an ideal environment for biofilm-producing bacteria and other pathogens. Sterilex Ultra Disinfectant Cleaner Solution 1 when mixed with Sterilex Ultra Activator Solution is an EPA-registered disinfectant labeled to inactivate Avian Influenza and kill pathogens such as Salmonella, E. coli. and others. It is the only product on the market specifically tailored to sanitize, disinfect and remove biofilm* in animal drinking lines.

Facility disinfection

Sterilex Ultra Disinfectant Cleaner Solution 1 and Sterilex Ultra Activator Solution can also be used for total facility disinfection between flocks. Following the removal of gross soils, the two-part solution is mixed, diluted in water, and foamed or sprayed on surfaces. For environmental sanitation, this product can be fogged when used according to the label instructions.
