Our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Committee guides our dedication to environmental stewardship, health and safety, corporate social responsibility and sustainability.

We proactively manage key ESG opportunities and risks to lead the way in preventing disease, enhancing well-being, ensuring product integrity and boosting productivity.

Product Innovation + Sustainability

We are committed to leading the industry in forward-thinking sanitation solutions focused on sustainability. We will:

  • Develop products that are better for the environment
  • Identify ways to help our customers achieve their sustainability goals
  • Allocate 75% of the Sterilex NPD budget towards innovative products that have more robust sustainability benefits, while continuing to reduce foodborne pathogens
  • Define and report on water savings driven by the use of Sterilex products
  • Evaluate raw materials used in Sterilex products in terms of their toxicity, global regulatory status and overall impact on consumers

Food Safety, Supply + Efficiency

Driven by a focus on integrity and leadership, we are proud to deliver products and services that make a difference for humanity. We commit to:

  • Provide ROI tools that help customers quantify water, money, time, labor and equipment savings
  • Develop and implement a supplier code of conduct
  • Produce products that continue to reduce foodborne pathogens, spoilage organisms and biofilm, reducing food waste and increasing food shelf life

Philanthropic Endeavors

Our commitment to making a difference extends beyond food safety. We also strive to make a positive impact locally and globally. We will better align our philanthropic efforts to our mission by providing employees with opportunities to:

  • Judge local science fairs
  • Mentor and educate children on the importance of science and sanitation
  • Support global water access and conservation efforts
  • Donate at least 100 hours of employee time to giving back to our local communities

2023

Surge For Water 2022-2023

On March 22, 2022, World Water Day, we began our partnership with Surge for Water to raise awareness of the global water crisis that negatively impacts 2.2 billion people. A contribution from our ESG and Sunshine committees will impact over 800 lives through their WASH hygiene and sanitation training program in rural Uganda.

We partnered with Surge again in 2023 to help make a tangible difference in the world’s water crisis.

2022

Energy Usage Awareness Week

Sterilex’s first Energy Usage Awareness Week took place May 23–27, 2022. The goal of this week was to provide information and opportunities for people to reduce their carbon footprint and adjust some regular habits to be more environmentally conscious in their day-to-day lives. We focused on a different area each day during this week, culminating in an office-wide, work-from-home day on Friday, May 27 to reduce commuting emissions and energy/water usage in the office.
