The Science

ProvaStride’s unique formulation’s active ingredients are sodium percarbonate and tetraacetylethylenediamine (TAED). The sodium percarbonate within ProvaStride contains hydrogen peroxide molecules loosely held by the sodium carbonate crystal structure. When ProvaStride powder encounters ambient moisture, the sodium percarbonate releases peroxide molecules. Even in dry processing environments, there is enough moisture in the air to activate ProvaStride.

ProvaStride requires moisture to become active, but this does not have to come from added water. Generally, if there is enough active moisture in an environment to have microbial concerns, there is enough moisture to activate ProvaStride to kill those organisms.

Most facilities reapply daily but depending on the amount of foot traffic through an area this amount can vary. Some facilities may need to reapply ProvaStride up to once per shift to ensure all footwear is properly covered.

ProvaStride is a broad-spectrum disinfectant when dissolved and applied at a rate of 13.4 oz – 17.4 oz of ProvaStride per gallon of water.

The pH of 1% solution is 8.0–10.0.
