ViveStep

ViveStep™ and EPA-Registered dry floor sanitizer designed to sanitize floors and boots — and reduce cross-contamination — in animal research facilities including those housing cows, swine, primates and rabbits. It is approved to kill pathogens such as ListeriaE. coli, and Salmonella on the floor. Unlike bleach and other liquid footbath sanitizers, ViveStep has excellent material compatibility and won’t break down footwear.

The Science

ViveStep is based on our proprietary PerQuat® chemistry. This peroxide and quat-blend dry sanitizer is odorless and considered “slip resistant.” Additionally, it was formulated with an anti-dusting agent and its dust content is equivalent to 0.0014% and considered “nearly dust free” – Category 1 according to the Collaborative International Pesticides Analytical Council (CIPAC) Method MT 171.1.

ViveStep Applications

ViveStep is specifically designed to prevent cross-contamination and provide lasting protection with easily verifiable active ingredients that remain stable for up to 8 weeks with proper management.

This dry sanitizer requires moisture to become active, but this does not have to come from added water. Generally, if there is enough active moisture in an environment to have microbial concerns, there is enough moisture to activate the product to kill those organisms.

In almost all cases no. However, because Quaternary Ammonium is one of the active ingredients in PerQuat sanitizers and disinfectants, there is potential for adverse downstream effects. When the amount to cause damage is calculated, it typically vastly exceeds the quantity on site so there is no real risk of negative impacts. Please reach out to your Sterilex representative with any questions about wastewater systems and Sterilex products.

Most facilities re-apply daily but depending on the amount of foot traffic through an area this amount can vary. Some facilities may need to reapply ViveStep up to once per shift to ensure all footwear is properly covered.
